There where whales everywhere, they estimated about 160 in the bay at the moment, most are cows with calf's.
Unlike Humpbacks they don't do much in the way of breaching or tail slapping, they just float around like a log.

Well we went for a drive to the Head of The Bight the other day, just a short 6 hour return drive and as we had been told there was whales everywhere. So Bev with her new camera in hand went crazy with photos but the longer we stayed the more we realised that the whales weren't going to do much unlike Humpbacks.
The females swim on there backs a lot,( no not for that reason) it is to keep males away and calf's from suckling, and we seen 1 tail slap that was about it.
It was our first venture to the Nullarbor (land with no trees) and the bit we seen was very flat but I counted 6 trees.
I think as we have told everybody we will be here until we come home at xmas now then heading to Perth.
Not much else is happening except I think we should have named Busta Houdini because after 1 week he had climbed over everything I built in the bus to keep him down the front and then at 2 weeks CLIMBED over the 900 mm fence of his pen, so I have had to extend the height of it already' so far so good this week.
Until next time
